Meet Becky Winter...
My first party in my living room.
April 30, 2016.
This whole thing started by a complete accident....
It was March of 2016. I had gone to a painting party with a friend and we had so much fun. My birthday was coming up in April and I wanted to have a party with my friends at my house! I’ve always loved art and have been painting and drawing since I was a kid. I invited over 4 friends and lead them through a little painting party in my living room. We had so much fun! At the end of the night, we all got together for the standard “Group Photo” and that was that! The next morning I woke up to a private message from a stranger asking if I could lead a painting party in her home for her friends. She had seen a photo my friend posted on Facebook the night before. From there, this fun adventure kept rolling and here I am today! It's truly because of YOU that I am able to keep teaching these parties. I am so incredibly thankful for everyone who has supported me in this creative adventure of mine.
My goal is to inspire creativity...
Anyone can do this! I have a few tricks up my sleeve and beginners are ALWAYS welcome! I walk each class through every step by painting along with the group. I give time for each painter to work independently and assist those who need extra guidance. We are all unique so we can not compare ourselves to others. Some have never explored being creative and others are established artists. Let's all create together to inspire one another to keep moving forward!
I will be the first to admit that I don't have a formal art education. I also don't have the best artistic ability. But it's simply that I love to CREATE and I want to continually learn. So many of us have hobbies that we love but we are afraid to step out because we don't have the right 'qualifications'. I am determined that I won't let fear hold me back.
I was employed at Mead Elementary, in Wisconsin Rapids, for the the past 8 years coordinating the before and after school programs, with many community partnerships. Then I was asked to step in as the Elementary Art Teacher for the 2018-19 school year, working under an emergency teaching license. It was such an honor to take on this roll, teaching 19 classes a week, grades K-5. There is so much to learn from working with children and they will always be so very near to my heart.
I really can't imagine doing anything other than teaching and creating which is why I decided to take my passion one step further and open up a local shop in Wisconsin Rapids. I hope you'll join me for a class or two.
